Meet Marley

Meet Marley! This adorable guy doesn't need to see you clearly to know he loves you!

Marley is a yellow Lab of approximately 9 years of age, but shhhh.... he doesn't act his age, and he doesn't need to know that!

You can apply to adopt Marley at bigdogrescueproject.org/adopt - He is available in the Pacific Northwest, the NE, and Tx.

He is your typical goofy, friendly, ball loving Lab, with a nice medium energy level.
Marley does well with other laid back, gentle, and friendly dogs. He would also do well as only dog.
He is blind in both eyes, but may be able to discern some shapes and shadows. Vet believes the blindness is genetic, his retinas are not viable so he will always be blind. Marley gets around really well once he learns the layout of his home and yard. Like most older gentlemen, he has a little arthritis in his hind legs, but otherwise he is a healthy, happy boy. Neutered, chipped, hw-, up to date on shots, and hw/flea/tick meds.
This good boy is house and potty trained, leash trained, and loves to go on walks! He uses his foster's xl doggie door on his own with no issues, but will also go to the door and bark to go outside. He enjoys going for rides, and does well in vehicles.
Marley LOVES playing fetch inside or out, and will play as long as you let him. Squeaker toys and balls are his favorites. He also enjoys a good game of tug o war. He knows basic commands like come, sit, no, up, down, outside, wait, leave/drop it. He is smart and very treat/toy motivated. He also knows careful, go lay down, wait, go potty, go get it, bring it here, step up, step down, etc.
His perfect family will consist of doting adults, with older children if any as he can accidently be a little mouthy when playing with his toys. They will have a home with a fenced yard, few if any stairs, with no shared walls as he can bark when excited. Ideally, his forever home will have experience with blind dogs, and have lots of patience as he learns his new surroundings. Someone who is home most of the time and/or has a secure, safe room to enclose him in while away would be best.
